Kendrick Jackson was reported
missing by his father. After an
extensive investigation and
community-wide search,
Kendrick remains missing to
this day. Kendrick was last seen

footballs on them . . .

2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $30,000! 2006 Winning

White Hat Volunteer Fundraising Challenge! On
November 24th, the Texas Center for the Missing
kicked off its First Annual White Hat
Volunteer Challenge. This campaign encourages
volunteers to be “one of the good guys” and
help raise funds for the Texas Center for
the Missing and the Amber Alert.
Texas Center for the Missing Receives Humanitarian Award! Texas
Center for the Missing (TCM) Nominated by HPD. TCM Founder, Doreen Wise,
and CEO, Beth Alberts, have been awarded the Houston Police Department’s
Humanitarian Service Award.

Internet Predators
On February 3, 2006, NBC’s Dateline aired
“
To Catch a Predator III,” its third
installment of videotaping adult men that
showed up at a house expecting to have sex
with a 12- or 13-year-old girl or boy. All had
reached their intended victim on
MySpace.com. The house was in Southern
California, but it could easily have been in any
of our communities.

4th Annual Champagne Brunch
Honoring Sheriff Tommy Thomas Raises Funds.
The April 17th Champagne Brunch was attended
by more than 100 friends of Sheriff Thomas
and
Texas Center for the Missing and raised almost
$23,000 — a new
record. The day was perfect for enjoying
the newly
enlarged patio at Crapitto’s Cucina
Italiana, and
taking home a great silent auction item.
The summer of 2002
is referred to as the “
Summer of Abductions”. The
abductions of Elizabeth
Smart, Danielle Van Damme
and Jennifer Short, among
others, shook the nation. Most
of us in the missing child
field felt—hoped—that
it was
a unique occurrence.

MRC employees in October. Texas Center for the Missing Benefits
At Scotch Club Outings McCormick and
Schmick raised more money
for Gabe’s Gifts through the
Scotch Club than any of their other charities to date.

3rd Annual Champagne Brunch is Big Success!
After the storm the day before,
the weather on Sunday, May 2nd
couldn’t have been better. More than 100 people
attended our annual fundraising event,
a brunch and silent auction
held at Crapitto’s
Italian Cucina. Chef
Extraordinaire, Frank Crapitto, provided
delicious food, and the restaurant
served as a wonderful
backdrop for friends of Texas Center for the Missing to gather to visit
and bid competitively on more than
120 items. This year’s
event raised almost $20,000 for Texas Center for the Missing missing child programs

White House Conference on Missing, Exploited and
Runaway Children on October 2, 2002. Houston was well
represented. This invitation-only event was attended
by
two other Southeast Texas SAR Alliance
members.

Way, Spindletop Charities, Inc., Seitel, Inc. and

Simon. Search and Rescue training -
Texas Center for the Missing and members of the Southeast
Texas SAR Alliance held their first joint training
session in February. A Compass and Land Navigation
Class taught by Jon Wyatt of Technical Rescue Solutions
was
held in Bear Creek Park and attended by
16 members. Texas Center for the Missing receives
computers -
Solid Systems has donated two Dell laptop computers
to our efforts. These will be used to provide presentations
for our awareness, prevention and education
efforts as well as for general use as needed. Click
