Texas Center for the Missing Announces State Level Winner of the National Missing Children’s Day Poster Judging Contest

Texas Center for the Missing is the coordinator of the state level National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest and is proud to announce this year’s statewide winner: 12-year-old Tomas Figueroa, a student at Edgewood Elementary School in Spring Branch ISD, is the first place winner. Congratulations to Tomas, his parents, and his teacher, Ms. Benton, who will be invited as special guests to Texas Center for the Missing’s 7th Annual Champagne Brunch and Silent Auction on April 27th.

Tomas’s poster will be entered into the 2008 National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest held each year by the Department of Justice. The national winner will be announced on May 8, 2008. The national winner, his/her teacher, and his/her parents will participate in the National Missing Children’s Day ceremony at the U.S. Department of Justice to be held on or around May 25, 2008. Transportation and lodging will be provided. The national winner also will receive a national award certificate and a United States Savings Bond. No other awards will be provided by the Department of Justice.
