Keeping Kids Safe: Street Smarts & Safety:  This brochure is provided free to educate parents in how to keep their child safer and provide fewer opportunities for their children to become victims of predators. It also serve as an emergency information brochure for when a child is missing. It lists (step-by-step) what to do when your child is missing.

Child Identification Kits. Texas Center for the Missing provides take-home, child identification kits in English and Spanish (when funding is available) by mail and at community events. Digital storage can also be provided upon request. Check our calendar of events for Child ID programs in your area. Contact us at 713.314.3673 or mhulin@tcftm.org if you would like to schedule a booth at your place of business, your child’s school, or your family’s place of worship. ID kits are provided free of charge; however, a donation of $2 per kit or a $50 donation per event is greatly appreciated.

Missing Child Response Plan. This document is a pre-plan for caring families to respond to a missing child incident. It has been reviewed and approved by the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and other member law enforcement agencies in the Southeast Texas Child Abduction Response Team.

When Your Child is Missing: Parents of missing children are provided a free copy of When Your Child is Missing: A Family Survival Guide printed by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, U.S. Justice Dept.

Internet Chat Abbreviations: Know what your children are saying on internet chat rooms. This document lists commonly used shorthand for popular phrases and can be downloaded here.

Publications for Traveling Families: Download our Family Travel Itinerary and other important travel documents below, print and fill out the forms. Make copies to keep with your other travel documents and distribute copies to a family member or friend. In case of an emergency or if someone is lost, those traveling along with family and friends will have an itinerary to assist law enforcement and search-and-rescue groups.
